Our lakes offer you great fly fishing pleasures at Crazy Bear Lodge.


Crazy Bear Lake and its surrounding lakes are all connected by a stream, the headwaters of the famous Atnarko River. Fish for Native rainbow trout in our valley of six lakes with a river running through. The stream connecting all six lakes offers plenty of good fishing opportunities for Hikers and Fishermen.

OUR RAINBOWS

Our wild rainbow trouts are rated one of the top five sport fish in North America because of the hard fight they put up. All these lakes offer exceptional fishing for native wild rainbow trout up to 24 inches.

YOUR CHOICES

At Crazy Bear Lodge, you decide how you want to fish. We offer boats with motors, canoes, kayaks and float tubes on our lakes. You can choose to Fly-Fish, Spin Cast, or Troll.

FISHING TACKLE

Bring your own rods and reels (fly, spin, or troll). Fly anglers should be armed with 5-6 weight rods, 8-10 feet in length. Gear anglers should be equipped with 6-7 foot, medium-action rods. No heavy gear needed. Local flies are available at the lodge.

Recommended Fly Patterns:
Fly-fisherman - Muddler, Whooly Buggers, Royal Wulff, Royal Coachman, Adams, Caddis, Nymph, Scuds, and Mayfly patterns

Spincaster/Troller - Small Mepps lures and red and white trout spoons, flat fish and rooster tails.

Calibaetes (Mayflies) - June to Aug
Sedges (Caddis) - July / August
Damsel flies - July / August
Dragon flies - July / August / September

Restrictions:
Single barbless hooks only. No live bait.
Canada Fishing license is required (available at the lodge.)
